Old knobbed eggs

Hi folks!

It's been a long time since last blog post and that's tells us a little about how difficult it is to find old glass floats. Especially those who might interest serious glass floats collectors.
Anyway here's four very old glass floats all with knobbed ends and two with old originale hemp rope/net and one with old rope. One is without net as you can see on the light clear green one below.

Colours are: light green on the 3 netted knobbed eggs and and clear glass with a hint of green on the knobbed egg without net.

Size on the large knobbed egg with hemp rope is Inches: 2.756 x 5.512
Size on the second large knobbed egg with hemp rope is Inches: 2.756 x 5.315
Size on the Next knobbed egg with old rope is Inches: 2.559 x 5.512
And the last without net is Inches: 2.362 x 5.197

give me a bid or offer on my email: pgunnarsen@hotmail.com

Take good care

Rotted net

My last find was rotted and very, very dusty. We had to find facemask or whatever the name is for those mask seen on picture.
I don't know what kind of dust but it felt like smoking 30 sigarettes.
Those floats and net was found in the Haugesund - Stavanger (Finnøy) area and are markt with F2, dotted F, M, dotted Q or something similar and two unmarked glass floats.
Fishing net is a Herring net and I guess it is from approx year 1930 - 1950 made from hemp and old wool rope.
Those netted floats Are beautiful, but the whole fishing net is rotted (part of it)and old junk.

Year 2011 expedition

Happy New Year followers from this blog and I hope all is well with you!

As some of you already know a new plan for a new expedition is in the works!
A new plan is initiated and the first people who had to have something interesting to sell and tell have already been contacted and an appointment for a visit and an inspection is done .
Area:
It appears that the tour starts in North Troms and will be completed in Vesterålen. The tour will be conducted by Vessel including my SUV and equipment from Bergen Harbor as usual and I will stay in Tromsø, a few days before I go on to the destination that will also be my base for approx. 14 days. The base is located in a beautiful area right on the beach and is an excellent strategic starting point for this particular type of collecting old history and fishing equipment.
New research plan:
I have learned a lot from my previous expeditions, and this expedition will be organized in a better way to comb the areas of interest. The tour will also be better documented due. I've made an upgrade to the professional photographic equipment and bought the best equipment that is to get hold of on the market today that also allows the photographer to make video recording with sound and not just images.

Base:
My base is a large modern house with all facilities available-and there is space for approx. 10 people, so it can probably get a little lonely, but it does not matter since I prefer rest between trips out to search for lost treasures. Anyway house is already booked for 14 days and as you can see from the picture and area it's a beautiful and stunning area with only approx.1 hour distance from the famous Lofoten area and Vesteraalen area.
End of the expedition:
This expedition will also continue when the vessel and my SUV arrives in Bergen Harbor, the ride will go north of Bergen, and I will continue the expedition along with a good friend and companion sailing north along the west coast with a yacht. Here we have opportunities for using a small rubber boat (Zodiac type) so that we can explore the narrow fjords, islets and reefs for a few days.

Sponsorship and funds:
If any of you reading this blog and who are familiar with how we can fix this economically so that I do not have to cover all costs of this expedition alone. Please send me an email so that we can agree on a possible sponsorship deal that everyone can take part in and benefit from.

PS. If anyone consider join me on this expedition please let me know, but I only have one seat available in my SUV, but you will get your own private room inside the house (look at picture above.)
